Hi there, I’m Leslie, and thank you for visiting Out Chasing Light! This website came about as a means for me to share my passion for photography, and “blog” about my road trip adventures and the images I’m making, while I’m out and about traveling the roadways of America.

I’ve been called a Shutterbug since the days when my grandfather put his Brownie Camera in my hands as a 5 year old, and my passion for making images has grown with me through life. I love the genres of landscape, travel, wildlife, action, sports, and environmental portrait photography. As a professional photographer, I try to remember, reflect, and act on the words left to us by some of the great photographers who have carried cameras before us. With this in mind, two of my favorite quotes are: “It’s more important to click with people than to click the shutter.”  Alfred Eisenstaedt, and “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” Ansel Adams

Making images of landscapes and ordinary things in extraordinary light makes extraordinary photographs… Leslie
